Transportation

Bus route information is available through your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.  Please be sure to double check bus stops and times before school starts as routes and times do change. Please be visible at the bus stop approximately 10 minutes before the bus stop time listed as running times will change due to weather and traffic conditions.

In order to provide bus students more opportunities to participate in after school extra-curricular activities, Forest Ridge School District 142 provides an after-school activity transportation from the Kerkstra and Foster Elementary Schools as well as Jack Hille Middle School, Monday through Thursday.

Clubs and activities meet after school from 2:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. at the Middle School and 3:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Elementary buildings. The activity bus is available to get students from their club making limited stops. Please check the Activity Bus scheduled stops and times for your child so they are aware of their activity bus stop.

Please note that these stops may not be as close to home for your child as the regular, daily bus stops from school. We have tried to locate stops in general areas of convenience while still being able to serve our students. These stops are limited in order to keep the bus ride at an acceptable length of time. Please inform your child of the stop he or she should get off at in order to inform the bus driver. Walkers may not use the activity bus at any time.

Utilizing Illinois School Bus and Alpha Transportation, we transport approximately 1,000 students daily using approximately 20 buses. The students are transported to our four in-district schools and four Southwest Cooperative Member schools.
