Information regarding Self-Certifying Students

We hope you are well as we all recover from the forceful storms that surfaced just two short days ago in our community. Above all else, we hope our families are safe and on the road to recovery.

As we communicated earlier this week and as we head into the beginning of the school year, it is imperative that families certify the health of their children prior to coming to school each day. This is one of the major ways we will ensure our staff and students remain healthy as In-Person learning for many of our students resumes.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year

We excitedly welcome you to the 2020-2021 School Year. With school beginning right around the corner, it goes without saying, that this is not our typical start to a school year. In fact, this August we have redesigned schooling so that some of our students will be learning from home, while others will be at the physical school buildings in person. We have worked hard to ensure everything is ready to make this unique year the very best for our students! As a reminder, our first day of student attendance is August 17, 2020.

2020-2021 School Year Reopening Plan (August 4, 2020)

We are looking forward to the beginning of the 2020-2021 School Year and welcoming our students back in a safe and healthy manner but we know that our school year this year will look different than those of the past. The District has created a Reopening Plan to help continue answer questions and provide framework for the School Year.

Board of Education Meeting Dial-In Information

The district has set up a dial-in link for the public to listen in for the Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be held in-person at Hille Middle School but also simulcasted over Zoom Webinar.

Thank you for your outpouring of support and your detailed questions, as we release our district plan to start the 2020-2021 school year. Our highest priority is to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and families, as we navigate providing a strong instructional setting to meet students' academic goals and social emotional needs.

Preparations for 2020-2021 School Year (July 30, 2020)

Excitedly, today we approach our families with information, specifics about next year, and the opportunity to choose how your children will begin the school year. In scrutinizing the ever-changing information available, we have developed Phases for a Return to Learning so that plans could be developed in the event we could return additional students to school or in the event we needed to be more restrictive and move towards Remote Learning.

Return to Learning Family Survey 2020-2021 Follow Up (July 22, 2020)

As the District works towards finalizing a strong and workable plan for returning our students and staff to school safely and with student learning in mind, we are seeking input from parents that will help us determine the direction of our final plan. We are working to put information out to families as soon as possible and thank you in advance for your continued support and contributions.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate ISBE and IDPH guidance to determine the best possible scenario to begin the upcoming school year. The Return to Learning committee continues to meet and set plans in place to keep our students, staff and community healthy and safe, while providing a rich and complete education to our students.
