As part of Forest Ridge School District 142's annual lawn care program, a contractor will be applying weed control chemicals to the turf areas at each school on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Forest Ridge School District 142 fifth and eighth grade students will take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) starting April 21. The ISA aligns with our Illinois Learning Standards in Science. This assessment helps students understand how well they are performing in their understanding of the Science standards.
When students return from their well deserved spring break on Wednesday, April 7, we welcome our Grade 1-8 In-Person Hybrid A students back while Ridge continues with an AM/PM schedule.
This Spring, students in grades 3-8 will participate in Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing, which is the federally required state assessment. The IAR will measure student growth and achievement in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.
In January, the District sent information to staff and families regarding Administrative Procedures for quarantines after travel. Our goal was to be clear and concise in our communication of information to the people we serve.
Forest Ridge School District 142 has exciting news to share as we look towards the 4th Quarter and the end of the school year. With community transmission rates low, our consistent safety, and in response to the need for our students to return to school in-person for a greater amount of time, District 142 will be moving to Phase 4 starting April 19, 2021.

The City of Oak Forest has changed the platform for Reverse 911 calling and has migrated to the Everbridge system. This service is free and replaces a system that was costly to the Oak Forest taxpayers. The city has asked Forest Ridge School District 142 to help disseminate this information.
