Our New Teachers


The Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142 staff welcomed six new members to our teaching staff on August 20th.  Institute Day activities took place at Hille Middle School for two days.  Teachers and students came together for the first day of the 2008-2009 school year on August 22nd!

Earlier that week, our new teachers, participated in an Introduction to Charlotte Danielson's A Framework for Teaching with Mary Weck of Consortium for Educational Change and an overview of the District Mentoring Program.  The activities concluded with a New Teacher Luncheon. 

                         

Kimberly Urban is working with students at Hille Middle School as a speech pathologist.  Kim earned her Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University and went on to earn a Master's in Health Science - Communication Disorders from Governors State University.

Kristen Mamich is now part of the Science Team at Hille Middle School.  Kristen attended St. Xavier University and majored in biology.

Mark Henninger has joined the Hille Middle School staff as a Physical Education teacher.  He is a recent graduate of Illinois State University where he majored in Physical Education.

Patrick Raleigh worked at Foster Elementary School last school year as an instructional aide.  Patrick has now joined the Science Team at Hille Middle School.  Patrick is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

Cori Alston has joined the District as an English Language Learner teacher.  Cori was awarded her Master's Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences from American University in Cairo, Egypt.  She has also earned a Bachelor of Science from Kennesaw State University, Bachelor of Arts, International Studies from American University in Washington, D.C.  Cori also served as a United States Diplomat to Finland!

Kimberly Beirich is teaching Literature/Language Arts at Hille Middle School.  Kim was awarded her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia where she majored in Middle School Language Arts.
