  • Swine Flue Guideline 5-26-2009
    Posted: 5/26/2009
Recently, we have had several cases of influenza A in our schools. Although
this may not be the H1N1 virus (swine flu virus), we are following the Cook
County Department of Public Health Directives for Schools relative to a flu
    diagnosis.
The following guidance is offered for your reference and review:
If your child has a fever (100 or above) they will be excluded
from school. To return to school they need a note from
    a physician stating:
    ? the diagnosis
? that he/she may return to school
He/she must also be fever free for 24 hours.
If your child has a diagnosis of influenza, he/she will be excluded
from school for 7 days from the date of diagnosis.
Again, these directives are per the Cook County Department of Public
    Health.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our goal is to keep each
of our students healthy as we end the school year.
    Thank you.
    Dr. Margaret W. Longo
