A Special Thank You Note From Mrs. DeLeon and all of us at Foster
I want to express my gratitude and deep appreciation to all of the ladies who gave their time to facilitate the Scholastic Book Fair. It is only by your efforts that I was able to realize over $300 in books this year. We work on a tight budget and this really helps me keep up with some new titles that all of the students love. Thanks so much to the PTA for continuing to sponsor the book fair. I know that it provides funding for many of our school programs and the Foster Library is pleased to be included.
We have many wonderful, generous families here at Foster School. The "One for Books" program sponsored by the Student Council was so helpful. To receive an extra $620 in books from the change students brought to school and donated at the Book Fair is absolutely incredible. It's also good to know that some children elsewhere who wouldn't be able to get new books will be receiving some as well.
I am so happy to be part of an organization that truly works with the students in mind.

From the Principal
Dear Forest Ridge Elementary School District Families and Community Members,
As the proud Principal of Lee R. Foster School since the 2000-2001 school year, I welcome you to our web site. By utilizing this site, we hope to widen communication lines between our school and all of the community stakeholders.
As we start a new year, we continue to work toward excellence in education for all of the children at Foster. We have implemented a platform of six school-wide rules in order to coordinate our character education efforts. These six rules are:
Be On Time
Be Ready To Work
Be Kind To All
Be Honest
Be Fair
Be Respectful To People and Property
We have also implemented an additional pledge each morning to remind us of these school wide rules.
My Foster Promise
Today and everyday I will try my best. I will be on time, be ready to work, be kind to all, be honest and fair, and be respectful to people and property. This is my Foster Promise.
Please make sure you familiarize yourself with the new district wide Parent/Student handbook. This document includes a variety of information that is important to know.
During your child's stay at Foster, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at cberinger@d142.org or at (708) 687-4763.
Sincerely,
Curt Beringer
